FORWARD CABIN ALTERED TO HOUSE TWO LARGE SINGLE BERTHS WITH LEE BOARDS. A DECK HATCH FITTED TO GIVE LIGHT AND ESCAPE FACILITY. TANK ROOM NOW HOUSES LARGE CALORIFER AND HEAVY DUTY WATER PUMPING SYSTEM, GIVING HOT AND COLD WATER TO BOTH HEADS AND GALLEY. LOWER BRIDGE LARGELY UNTOUCHED TO PRESERVE THE ORIGINALITY, ALTHOUGH HATCH WINDOWS HAVE BEEN FITTED WITHIN EXISTING WINDOWS GIVING MUCH NEEDED VENTILATION BUT HOUSES THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT. TWO CHART PLOTTERS. TWO, FISH FINDERS. 96-MILE RADAR SAILOR VHF ORIGINAL RDF COMPASS. ELECTRIC COMPASS LOG DEPTHSOUNDER. NEW AUTO PILOT RUDDER INDICATOR INTERCOM SYSTEM THROUGHOUT SHIP WEATHER FAX CCTV TO ENGINE ROOM. SWIVEL LEATHER HELMSMANS CHAIR SWIVEL LEATHER NAVIGATORS CHAIR. DECK SALOON HAS NOW A LARGE TEAK GALLEY RUNNING FULL LENGTH OF STARBOARD SIDE. THIS INCLUDES SINK, LARGE FRIDGE, AND ELECTRIC COOKER. A FULL LENGTH FITTED SOFA IS ON STBD SIDE. THE ORIGINAL ENGINEERS CONSUL WITH GAUGES IS STILL OPERATIONAL AND IN SITU. DOWN TO MIDDLE CABIN WHICH NOW HOUSES TWO BUNKS. THERE IS NOW A LARGE HEADS/SHOWER AND WASH BASIN EN SUITE. TWO SMALL DECK HATCHES FITTED TO GIVE LIGHT AND VENTILATION. THE AFT CABIN WE CALL STEERAGE HAS A DOUBLE MATTRESS MAKING A GOOD DOUBLE BED. THE INTENTION IS TO CARPET CLAD THE WALLS NEXT SEASON TO SOFTEN IT UP. THE SOLID HATCH HAS BEEN DISCARDED AND A CLEAR ONE FITTED. WITH A LADDER THIS GIVES OWN ACCESS SO AS NOT TO DISTURB MIDDLE CABIN. THE VESSEL STILL HAS SELF-RIGHTING CAPABILITY AS ALL HATCHES SEAL AND ARE STRONG. THE HULL HAS BEEN SPRAYED BLUE, AND TOP SIDES WHITE. ALL DECKS HAVE BEEN REDONE AND PAINTED IN NON-SLIP BLACK. THE TOP BRIDGE RAILINGS HAVE BEEN ALTERED TO GIVE FULL SIZE DECK BUT NOW NO SIMPLE DINGHY STORAGE. DINGHY SECURES ON AFT DECK. THE VESSEL WENT THROUGH A REFIT IN APPROX 1997 AT SOUTERS YARD. THIS INCLUDED DOING THE BOTTOM DUE TO SIGNS OF OSMOSIS. THE VESSEL IS NOW HEAVIER DUE TO NEW GELCOE HENCE 18KNOTTS IS DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE WITH FULL TANKS. AT 1950 RPM SHE IS THIRSTY, HOWEVER I CRUISE AT 11K BURNING APPROX 14 GALLS PER HOUR. AT TEN K IT BURNS APPROX 12 GALLONS PER HOUR. HER DISPLACEMENT SPEED IS ABOUT 8.6 KNOTS WHERE TEN GALLONS IS USED. IF HOWEVER A SHAFT BRAKE IS APPLIED AND ONE ENGINE USED, SHE WILL DO 8.6 KNOTS AT ABOUT SIX GALLONS PER HOUR. ALL IN ALL ACCEPTABLE. THE ENGINE ROOM, NOW ALSO HOUSES A NORTHERN LIGHTS NEW DIESEL GENERATOR, GIVING 240 V THROUGHOUT THE SHIP. IT ALSO POWERS A NEW CONSTAVOLT BATTERY CHARGER SITUATED IN AFT CABIN. THE ORIGINAL FIRE FIGHTING PUMP AND HOSES WORK PERFECTLY, WITH PUMP RUNNING OFF PORT ENGINE ON DEMAND.
